About this work
In summer 2024, Sir Lindsay Hoyle, the Speaker of the House of Commons, made a visit to Grand Cayman. He was scheduled to make a stop at our Parliament. At this time, I was working closely with Parliament’s then-Communications Officer, Susan Burke, and she tasked me with creating a programme for the visit to Parliament.
He’s a lovely guy, by the way. I got to follow him around and take pictures and stuff while he was here. He also gifted me a beautiful, signed notebook and pen from the House of Commons.
Process
I made the entire document on Figma. This was my first ever experience with the design feedback loop. A lot of the feedback I received in the later stages was less about design and more about government protocol, which I found fascinating.
