Hello, I'm Jelani!

I'm a communications student from George Town, Grand Cayman.

I’ve been drawing as long as I can remember — first in the back of my notebooks, then on FireAlpaca, then Procreate for the iPad. In 2023, I forayed out into UI design for the first time with Lunacy and Figma, two powerful free softwares. I quickly learned that I could use Figma for other kinds of graphic design as well. Since then, I’ve been doing posters, logos, book covers, illustrations, social media posts, and even a small mural with Figma. That I do so much of my design with Figma shocks all my collaborators to this day :^)

I like design that is functional and communicative, but I am venturing out into more artistic works and more maximalism. I am constantly inspired by the work of Keith Haring and Gina Sterling.

When I'm not designing, I like to produce music, study language and linguistics, write and read poetry, and be unreasonably bad at roguelite video games.
