Cookies & Privacy

What are the cookies on this site for?

I design and host this website on Squarespace. By default, there are cookies. Cookies are bits of data that store themselves on your device.

Necessary cookies are so called because they’re necessary to run the website, and involve tech that I’m not that knowledgeable about. For example, if this site had a shop, there might be a cookie to remember the items in your cart.

Performance and analytics cookies collect some non-personal data from your device. This is everything collected by analytics cookies:

  • whether you’re a repeat or first-time visitor,

  • the country you accessed my site from,

  • whether you clicked a link or typed the URL in,

  • the app you used to access it / your browser,

  • your operating system (e.g., Windows, iOS),

  • your device type (mobile / desktop),

  • how long you stayed on the website,

  • and what pages you visited.

That’s it! They help me quite a bit, so if you’re cool with this info being collected, turn “Performance and analytics” cookies on!

Advertising cookies collect a bit more information about your browsing activities. This data might then be sold to serve you more personal ads. However, on this site, I don’t collect personal data and I don’t host ads. Squarespace also doesn’t collect data from you when you visit my website. That being said, there’s still a toggle for “Advertising” cookies on my cookie banner. You can do whatever you like with that one.
