Alaga

About this work

The Alaga branding guide is a project I made for a friend of mine named Kaithlyn in an assignment. We were tasked with making a logo, colour palette, and branding guide (complete with mockups, colour pairings and font pairings) for a fictional company that our assignment partner — our “client” — made.

My friend created the brand Alaga, which I am told is Tagalog for “that which is taken care of” or “pet.” They are an online store that creates artisanal pet accessories with the comfort of your alaga in mind.

Process

I interviewed my client about the brand and what she envisioned for it in terms of style and language. She told me she wanted something clean, fun, and organic. I did some sketches and conceptualization in my notebook (see below!). I made three logo designs, three colour palettes, and three font pairings. The ones you see above are the ones that my client picked out as capturing the feel of the brand best.
